COMMUNITY SPIRIT LIFTERS PROGRAM
Beyond A Joke Incorporated has created ‘The Community Spirit Lifters Program’, an extension of Beyond A Joke’s empowerment support groups.
The purpose of this program is to motivate participants, businesses and communities to become involved in community based volunteering and fund raising for people who are having difficulty receiving help within local communities.
The Community Spirit Lifters Program will allow Beyond A Joke Incorporated to become a large part of community involvement. Beyond A Joke Incorporated will mentor people to give back to the community
whilst creating Beyond A Joke’s vision to see the Community Spirit Lifters Program bring schools, and entire communities working together to end bullying and suicide as much as possible.
COMMUNITY SPIRIT LIFTERS VOLUNTEERING AND FUNDRAISING PROGRAM
This program that has been created, as Beyond A Joke Incorporated believes having the entire community involved seeing an end to bullying will help lesson bullying in a positive non-violent manner.
Volunteers are given a full day training by our Volunteer Manager and provided with Beyond A Joke’s volunteer fundraising procedures manual to refer to at any time.
Some community fundraisers and volunteering will include (but not limited to):
Funds for the continuation of free community services by Beyond A Joke
Equipment for Hospitals
Support for people with a disability and the elderly
Homelessness due to mental illness
Children living with an illness and in needs of funds for medical assistance and equipment
Bringing businesses and the Community together via our fundraising and volunteering
Assisting with community projects
All Donations $2.00 and over are Tax Deductible.
BENEFITS OF BECOMING A VOLUNTEER
Volunteer members will gain recognition from Beyond A Joke Incorporated and the community for their loyalty, hard work and compassion for others.
An Appreciation Award dinner will be held yearly to present our volunteers with the recognition they deserve for their selfless efforts in helping others. As well as Beyond A Joke Incorporated acknowledging and rewarding volunteers for their efforts volunteers also acknowledge themselves with the inner satisfaction one feels when giving and helping someone’s life easier to live.
This Appreciation Award dinner is an incentive for Beyond A Joke Incorporated.
Volunteers to continue their good works and shows our sincere appreciation and gratitude of the efforts each member puts into helping others within communities.
Certificates for volunteering and fundraising activities will be presented to each volunteer. Meeting new people, making friends, empowering people, improving the community and gaining work experience are among the few benefits of becoming a volunteer.
Our goals are to show kindness to others building their confidence and self-esteem with an understanding it is Okay to have challenges in life and no matter how big the challenge may be there will always be people like Beyond A joke Incorporated Volunteers whom may have experienced similar challenges themselves so can empathise with the situation.
When a person stops feeling alone and that they are the only one who is or has gone through a challenge it takes the fear out of the challenge and may led to thoughts of ‘If they got through it I can too’, will give them the strength they need to overcome challenges.
Upon completion of a criminal and working with children check, volunteers will be given a full day's training on volunteering and fundraising. A Beyond A Joke Incorporated Volunteer Instruction and Procedure manual along with identification badge and uniform will be provided to successful volunteer applicants.
THE SELECTION PROCESS
Volunteers for Beyond A Joke Inc. are selected for their passion and dedication, in line with the vision and objectives of Beyond A Joke Inc. In addition, volunteers are required to:
Have a current clearance number to work with children from the Commission for Children and Young People (WWCC) – Working with children check
Have a current clearance following a Criminal Record Check
A current approved First Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
To provide two references.
To successfully undergo Beyond A Joke Incorporated’s training and orientation procedure.
